After hosting U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and asking him to denounce ”White Supremacy”, Face the Nation then hosted U.S. House Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). Radical leftist Jeffries is rumored to be hoping for a chance to be speaker of the house one day.
Maggie Haberman appeared to be “tough” towards Jeffries to a degree, but maybe not quite as tough as she was towards Scott. Haberman asked Jeffries if Democrats can keep the House after the 2022 mid-terms with Joe Biden’s poor popularity. Jeffries did acknowledge the challenges such as inflation, war, ”Covid fatigue” and other things.
But then he said the House will stay in Democrat hands and that Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) are doing well in so many words.
“I’m very confident that we will be able to hold on to the majority. President Biden has done a very good job under incredibly difficult circumstances. I understand that the electorate of course is going to be unsettled, experiencing Covid fatigue, inflationary pressures, high gas prices, a war in Ukraine, a radical extreme Republican Party that doesn’t appear to believe in Democracy any longer…”
After appearing to blame ”Senator Tim Scott” for a lack of “police reform” legislation, and being ”corrected” by Haberman, he responded to the question of a possible weak turnout by Democrats this year.
“I think, led by Speaker Pelosi and Leader Schumer, we’ve been acting decisively….”
He then went on to partially blame high gas prices on “gouging”. He went on:
“We have passed legislation to deal with domestic terrorism and the rise of White Supremacy in this country….” Jeffries went on to mention the tragedy in Buffalo, New York, but not the one in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Watch:
Time will tell if weak Republicans allow defeat to be snatched from the jaws of victory in November, or if Democrats will lose power.
