Naomi’s daughters Wynonna and Ashley shared about the passing of their mother saying, “Today, we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”
The released statement has led many to speculate that Naomi took her own life. This has not been addressed or confirmed by the family at this time.
Naomi and Wynnona were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday as members of the group ‘The Judds’. They were also set to start a touring this fall, something they had taken a break from doing for about a decade.
Country Music HOF shared that they will carry on with the induction of The Judds on Sunday.
“We are shocked and saddened by the death of Naomi Judd, who enters the Country Music Hall of Fame tomorrow as a member of the @juddsofficial. Her family has asked that we continue with the Judds’ Hall of Fame induction Sunday. We will do so, with heavy hearts.”
