House Judiciary GOP Accuses Pelosi’s Jan. 6 Committee of Doctoring a Fox News Clip of Jim Jordan

The House Judiciary GOP today accused the Jan. 6 Select Committee of doctoring a Fox News clip of Jim Jordan.

In an initial quote tweet of journalist Taylor Popielarz, the House Judiciary GOP, Popielarz reported that “Ohio Rep. @Jim_Jordan makes his first appearance in the @January6thCmte hearings.”

“It was a clip of an interview he did with @FoxNews before Jan. 6, 2021 where he said Jan. 6th ‘is the ultimate day of significance’ and ‘we have a duty to step forward,'” Popielarz claimed, based on the clip that was shown by the committee.

The House Judiciary GOP shot back in the quote tweet, “He didn’t say that. He was quoting liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who did.”

In another tweet, the House Republicans shared the full clip of Jordan’s interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“STUNNING Lame Duck Speaker Pelosi’s illegitimate political witch-hunt just DOCTORED @Jim_Jordan‘s interview with @MariaBartiromo.”

“Rep. Jordan was quoting Ruth Bader Ginsburg. WATCH HIS FULL QUOTE”

“Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the late justice said this, ‘The ultimate date of significance is Jan. 6.’ This is how the process works, the ultimate arbiter here, the ultimate check and balance is the United States Congress and when something is done in an unconstitutional fashion, which happened in several states, we have a duty to step forward and have this debate and have this vote on the sixth of January.”

According to the New York Times, “Justice Ginsburg recognized in Bush v. Gore that the date of ‘ultimate significance’ is January 6, when Congress counts and certifies the votes of the Electoral College.”

The House Judiciary GOP then asked in a quote tweet of the House Republicans, “Will anyone in the mainstream media honestly report this fact?”
