Poltico’s Congress reporter Olivia Beavers shared that House Republicans are talking about taking a resolution to the House floor Tuesday to criticize Joe Biden’s response to the Chinese “spy” balloon.
Biden is set to deliver his State of The Union address to the nation Tuesday evening. The Chinese “spy” balloon is what is currently fresh in everyone’s mind. This is just another blight on the Biden Administration.
“NEWS: House Rs are discussing moving a resolution that’d criticize the Biden admin for inaction re. the Chinese surveillance balloon. My leadership source says if they pull trigger, it’d likely hit the floor Tuesday (that’d be ~SAME~ day as Biden’s State of the Union address)”
House Republicans it seems are set to take the opportunity to vote on a resolution that would criticize the Biden administration’s response to China’s blatant disregard for American sovereignty. The massive balloon that was believed to be sending surveillance back to China was allowed to travel over the interior of the United State for days.
It has come out that the American government was aware of the balloon that was in American airspace long before it became public information. There seemed to be no plan to take action on the balloon until American citizens became aware of its existence.
Biden has appeared to try to save face, claiming he ordered it shot down on Wednesday, the day that most of America learned of it, however, he was overruled and instead, the military waited until it was over open waters to shoot it down.
The balloon entered American airspace on January 28th, it was finally shot down on February 4th after it made its way across much of the interior of the United States.
The initial response from the pentagon was to let Americans know the information about the balloon was classified and so with little answers speculation was able to grow.
