Los Angeles, California US House Rep Karen Bass, who now sits atop the progressive list for presidential running mate selection by presumptive nominee Joe Biden, has endorsed Minnesota House Rep Ilhan Omar ahead of Tuesday’s primary.
Omar announced the endorsement in a tweet and told Bass, “your support means the world!”
“Whether I was with her in Minnesota’s 5th District or with her and Speaker Nancy Pelosi in Ghana, it is so obvious to me the passion with which Rep. Omar serves. I am proud to support my colleague — send her back to Congress!”

Congressman Omar has been a champion for not only the people who sent her to Congress, but millions throughout the country in need of affordable housing, fair wages, and accessible health care.
Her national profile is part of the reason she is being challenged. One flyer from her opponent, Antone Melton-Meaux, a local lawyer, released declared, “Ilhan Omar Is in the News Again.”
More than 300 Democratic National Convention delegates are now urging Biden to pick Bass, the Congressional Black Caucus chair. It was recently revealed that she had a communist history and in 2016 on Cuba said, “We should make friends with them.”
