A high school in Brooklyn, New York has been closed for Wednesday after illegal immigrants were bussed into the gym due to a storm hitting the east coast.
Students will be forced to attend classes via Zoom, which has led to outrage from parents in the area.
The illegal immigrants came from a “Tent City” at Floyd Bennett Field and have been forced to shelter in the James Madison High School gym.
According to the New York Post, one irate mom expressed her displeasure as the illegal immigrants pulled up inside a line of school buses in the pouring rain shortly before 6 p.m.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said that while tents at two other sites are “anchored” to the ground, the ones at Floyd Bennett Field are only held down by “heavy stones.”
Republican Queens Councilwoman Joann Ariola told The Post, “I warned the administration that something like this would happen from day one and they refused to listen.”
“Floyd Bennett Field is entirely unsuitable for a tent complex, and how we are wasting tax-payer dollars to evacuate nearly 2,000 people when they should have been placed somewhere like the Park Slope Armory. This did not take a fortune teller to predict. It was common sense,” Ariola explained.
X owner Elon Musk took note of what transpired and declared in a tweet, “This is what happens when you run out of hotel rooms.”
“Soon, cities will run out of schools to vacate. Then they will come for your homes,” Musk warned.
