Peter Doocy Sends John Kirby Reeling, ‘Why Should We Believe Anything This Administration Tells Us About Anything Ever Again?’

During Tuesday’s White House press briefing, Fox News’ Peter Doocy sent White House spokesman John Kirby reeling with questions about what occurred with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Doocy asked Kirby, “Why should we believe anything this administration tells us about anything ever again?”

Kirby struggled to answer the question as he admitted, “I think we all recognize, and I think the Pentagon has been very, very honest with themselves about the challenge to credibility by what has transpired here and by how hard it was for them to be fully transparent with the American people.”

“We all recognize that this didn’t unfold the way it should have on so many levels… we all recognize that and we want to make sure to learn from that,” Kirby explained.

After Kirby defended Austin, Doocy then wondered, “If the administration is gonna go to such great lengths to keep secrets about the Defense Secretary’s health, how can anybody be certain that the administration would not go to the same lengths to keep secret problems with President Biden’s health in the future?”

Kirby danced around some again and told Doocy that his question wasn’t a “fair one” because the information wasn’t shared by Austin and that the administration wanted to make sure it didn’t happen again.

It was reported on Tuesday that Austin was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had undergone a procedure in December.

Complications from the procedure reportedly led to his hospitalization which had him out of commission for several days.

Joe Biden apparently also wasn’t made aware that any of that had occurred until Tuesday as well when he was notified by White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, according to Kirby.
