Democratic House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Ny) announced this morning that she is proud to be voting for the Biden-Harris ticket on the Workers Families Party line, which is different from voting for them on the Democratic ticket.
New York State Senator Jessica Ramos said in a recent interview, “We are asking folks to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on row D, the Working Families Party line” because the rules have changed this year for third parties.
To keep their ballot line in the future, they now have to get 130,000 votes or 2% of the total vote and “The Working Families Party has been very effective in helping us elect more progressives into the Legislature,” Ramos added.
AOC appeared this morning CNN‘s “State of the Union” and Jake Tapper said, “To be completely candid, Vice President Biden’s position on the issue of fracking has been confusing. During the primary he sounded supportive of a ban, on Saturday he told supporters, ‘I’m not banning fracking period.'”
“It sounds like now he’s on the other side of this issue from you,” Tapper continued and then asked, “Does it both you?”
AOC responded, “You know it does not bother me, I believe, and I have a very strong position on fracking, you know the science is very clear, the methane emissions from fracking are up to 64 times more powerful than CO2 emissions at trapping heat in the air and just from the perspective of stopping climate change their is a scientific consensus.”
“However, that is my view. Vice President Biden has made it very clear that he does not agree with a fracking ban, it will be a privilege to lobby him should we win the White House, but we need to focus on winning the White House first and I’m happy to make my case, but I also understand he is in disagreement on the issue,” AOC insisted.
