A viral “heart-wrenching video” shows a 100-year-old World War II veteran breaking down and declaring, “It’s all gone down the drain, our country’s gone to hell.”
According to Fox 13 News, the veteran’s name is Carl Spurlin Dekel and on Wednesday, June 29, his family and friends gathered to honor his service, sacrifice, and centennial in Plant City, Florida.
In the viral clip, Dekel said:
“People don’t realize what they have, they b*tch about it.”
“Nowadays, I am so upset that the things we did, the things we fought for and the boys have died for, it’s all gone down the drain, our country’s gone to hell in a hand basket.”
“We haven’t got the country we had when I was raised, not at all, no one will have the fun I had, no one will have the opportunity I had, it’s not the same.”
“It’s just not the same. That’s not what they died for. It’s just not it.”
Arizona GOP Gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake shared the video and said, “Heart-wrenching: 100 year old veteran breaks down, cries for America.”
Arizona GOP State Sen Wendy Rogers noted in a quote tweet of Lake, “My father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather – all career combat Army officers – would express the SAME SENTIMENT.”
