The Senate Judiciary Chair, Patrick Leahy (D-VT), today claimed that a GOP senator crossed the line during the hearing for Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson.
In a clip shared by Breaking 911, Leahy told a reporter that things were “going well” until a recent line of questioning.
“You had a Republican member who went way the over the time allotted, ignored the rules of the committee, badgered the nominee, would not ever let her answer the questions,” Leahy explained.
Leahy insisted, “I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve been here 48 years.”
In an apparent dig at past GOP nominees, Leahy then suggested, “Here we have a highly respectable nominee and to be treated that way.”
“I don’t know what the motivation might be, what the political motivation is, but to see the badgering of this woman as she’s trying to testify I thought was outrageous,” Leahy added.
Twitter user Ron Mexico pointed out, “Guess he must have been asleep for the last 2 nominations.”

It is unclear who Leahy was referring to, but Breaking 911 wrote that it was U.S. Sen Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
