Jim Jordan Announces First Investigation as Chairman of the Judiciary, a Probe into Biden’s ‘Mishandling’ of Classified Documents

U.S. House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) today announced the first investigation as chairman of the judiciary, a probe into Joe Biden’s “mishandling” of classified documents.

The announcement comes the day after Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate the matter as well.

In a letter sent today to Garland, Jordan and U.S. House Rep Mike Johnson (R-LA) wrote, “We are conducting oversight of the Justice Department’s actions with respect to former Vice President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, including the apparently unauthorized possession of classified material at a Washington, D.C., private office and in the garage of his Wilmington, Delaware, residence.”

“On January 12, 2023, you appointed Robert Hur as Special Counsel to investigate these matters. The circumstances of this appointment raise fundamental oversight questions that the Committee routinely examines. We expect your complete cooperation with our inquiry,” the representatives insisted in the letter.

The Republicans also pushed back on another narrative that the mainstream media have been pushing in regard to the difference between Biden’s situation and the raid on Mar-a-Lago.

“In fact, on August 8, 2022, despite the publicly available evidence of President Trump’s voluntary cooperation, you personally approved the decision to seek a warrant for excessive and unprecedented access to his private residence. On August 15, 2022, Committee Republicans wrote to you and FBI Director Christopher Wray requesting documents and information related to the FBI’s raid of President Trump’s residence,” they told Garland.

The pair explained, “The Department and FBI have failed to sufficiently comply with this request. Our requests remain outstanding.”

In a tweet this morning, Jordan wondered, “At this point, where did Joe Biden NOT have classified documents?”

Classified documents have now been found in three different locations that Biden had access to, including next to his Corvette in his garage.
