A year after a draft opinion of Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health was leaked, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has launched an inquiry into the handling of protesters outside Supreme Court Justices’ homes by U.S. Marshals.
The draft opinion, written by Justice Alito and according to the opinion it appeared that Roe vs. Wade would be overturned, which it was.
This sparked outrage from the left. One left-wing activist group, Ruth Sent Us, published the address of six justices, and many organized protests outside the homes.
Emily Brooks shared:
“Scoop: House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan launching [sic] investigation into training given to U.S. marshals to not arrest protesters outside Supreme Court Justices’ homes – letter requests information from U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald Davis”
U.S. House Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is requesting documents from the U.S. Marshals to investigate training given to them to not arrest the protesters outside the justices’ homes.
In June 2022 matters had escalated to the point that a man showed up at Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home with a handgun, tactical knife, pepper spray, zip ties, and other gear. The man it was later learned, planned to assassinate three justices in an effort to change the makeup of the Supreme Court to “stop Roe vs. Wade from being overturned”.
“The training materials provided to the U.S. Marshals strongly suggest that the Biden Administration is continuing to weaponize federal law enforcement agencies for partisan purposes,” Jordan wrote in his letter to U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald L. Davis.
This was brought to light by Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) in a March Senate Appropriations subcommittee, where Britt shared training slides that were provided to the U.S. Marshals assigned to protect the Supreme Court Justices’ homes.
The Hill reported:
The slides said the federal statute “directly implicates activities that also involve the [First Amendment] right to free speech, to assemble, and to petition the government,” interpreting the statute’s language of “intent of influencing any judge” as applying to “criminal threats and intimidation, not 1st A protected protest activities.”
“Avoid, unless absolutely necessary, criminal enforcement actions involving the protest or protestors, particularly on public space,” another slide said.
“Do not engage in protest-related enforcement actions beyond that which are strictly and immediately necessary and tailored to ensure the physical safety of the Justices and their families,” another slide said.
Britt confronted Attorney General Merrick Garland with the slides, to which he said he had never seen them.
Jordan has requested documents and communications between the U.S. Marshals Service and the Department of Justice, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Executive Office of the President about enforcement of the statute from May 2, 2022, to present day. He gave a deadline of May 17th for a response.
We will see how the U.S. Marshals respond and where it will go from here. In our view, it seems to us that the left is not afraid to let political intimidation go unchecked, particularly when it benefits them. It’s sad to think that the United States would allow that sort of political environment to exist, much less thrive, and for the sake of our nation, I hope our opinion on this is wrong, but fear that it is right.

The ” I was only following orders” is unacceptable from any Marshall. A la Nuremberg. They made an oath to protect and serve not to cow tow to leftist ideologue politicians.
Like the Uvalde police they need to fired.
Jordan is full of it. It’s been four months. Where are the subpoenas?
Since Chuck U. Schumer called out Justice Kavanaugh by name and said, “I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price, you won’t know what hit you” Maybe he should be investigated to see if he has any ties to the left-wing nut case that went to Kavanaugh’s home to assassinate him.The loss of Justice Kavanaugh from the Court would be a gain for slimy democRATs and Chuck U. Schumer. It would not be a surprise if Nasty Pelosi is in on it as well.
Will we see a hearing and investigation of Chuck U. Schumer and Nasty Pelosi? Will we see the FBI raid Schumer’s home a 4:00 in the morning and lead him off in handcuffs?
