Jim Jordan Lists Seven Things That ‘The American People’ Want Congress to Work On This Week That Dems Won’t

U.S. House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) came out firing this week in a tweet where he listed out seven things that “The American People” want Congress to work on this week that Democrats won’t.

Jordan declared in the tweet, “What the American people want us to work on this week: Border Crisis, inflation, school choice, big tech, crime, drug overdoses, energy prices.”

“Things Democrats will work on this week: None of that,” Jordan lamented.

Sure enough, Sen Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) issued a letter today focusing on federal voting legislation that the Democrats believe to be a priority.

Schumer claimed in a “Dear Colleague” letter sent today, “The Senate must evolve, like it has many times before.”

“The Senate was designed to evolve and has evolved many times in our history,” Schumer suggested before referencing former KKK leader turned Senator, the late Robert Byrd (D-WV).

Schumer described the events that occurred on Jan. 6 last year at the U.S. Capitol as a “symptom of a broader illness — an effort to delegitimize our election process.”

Ultimately, Schumer vowed to “debate and consider changes to Senate rules on or before January 17” if Republicans refuse to “change course and work with us.”

Journalist Jake Sherman described the letter as “very, very interesting” and said, “He is leaning into changing the Senate rules MUCH more than before. this is as far as Schumer has gone.”

Sherman noted, however, that “at the moment,” Schumer doesn’t appear to have the votes to change the rules, with Sens Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) likely against it.
