In a series of tweets from U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R), he makes a statement regarding Amb. Sondland, Ambassador to the European Union, being blocked by the state department from testifying today to the House, Foreign Affairs, Oversight and Reform, and intelligence committees. Hitting at U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D) for following directives from Speaker Pelosi (D) “Hit while the Iron is Hot” while he also implies that Schiff is trampling the constitution.

In case you were unaware, Ambassador Sondland had flown back from Brussels to testify today to the House committees involved in the President Trump impeachment inquiry. Why would the State Department allow him to come all the way back if they weren’t going to allow him to testify? According to House GOP members who spoke to the press today, the State Department was anticipating Democrats to release the full testimony of former U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Kurt Volker.
Volker’s testimony was last week, and the GOP Representatives highlighted that there was no quid pro quo in the ongoing Ukraine impeachment controversy. They also stated if the full transcripts were released the impeachment narrative would be lost. Instead of releasing the full transcripts, Chairmain Schiff is only allowing parts of testimony as they fit the Democrat narrative for impeachment.
The House GOP members talked to reporters this morning after learning Amb. Sondland would not be testifying. You can watch the full video below. In this video, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) describes the whole thing as “kangaroo court, and Chairman Schiff is acting like a malicious Captain Kangaroo”.
