Joe Biden Appears to Begin 2024 Campaign Early With Low Blow at Donald Trump Over Who Beat COVID Faster

Joe Biden appeared to begin his 2024 campaign early today with a low blow at Donald Trump over who beat COVID faster.

Breaking911 shared a clip from CNBC of Biden’s comments in a tweet and quoted Biden as having said:

“When my predecessor got COVID, he had to get helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center. He was severely ill. Thankfully, he recovered. When I got COVID, I worked from upstairs in the White House.”

Biden then explained, “The difference is, vaccinations, of course, but also three new tools, free to all and widely available.”

“You don’t need to be president to get these tools used for your defense. In fact, the same booster shots, the same at-home test, the same treatment that I got is available to you,” Biden contended.

In what could be considered a campaign statement, Biden added that “My administration has made sure that all Americans across the country of all walks of life have free access to those tools.”

Trump supporter “Rondalee Iowa” replied to the tweet by noting, “Trump had delta, Biden had BA5. A completely different disease in severity.”

CNN reported that Biden plans to wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days and he will increase the frequency with which he is tested to detect any possible resurgence of the virus.

Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote in a memo to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that Biden took two antigen tests, one on Tuesday evening and one on Wednesday morning, that were both negative.

O’Connor cited the potential for the President to experience a “rebound” of his Covid-19 infection after Biden received the antiviral Paxlovid in explaining the more frequent testing and noted that there has been a small percentage of patients who have been treated with Paxlovid who experienced a rebound in their infection.
