Joe Biden Salutes Barack Obama After the Frmr Pres ‘Jokingly’ Refers to Him as ‘Vice President’ During White House Speech

In an incredible scene at the White House today, the Barack Obama returned to the presidential residence for the first time since he left office.

As he began his remarks, Obama turned to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and declared, “Vice President Biden, Vice President…”

Biden then saluted Obama as the former president claimed, “That was a joke.”

Obama then came over and shook Biden’s hand before returning to the podium, suggesting, “That was all setup.”

The Hill reported that Democrats are hoping Obama’s appearance will provide a much-needed boost to Biden, who has been lagging in the polls. 

Obama remains extremely popular with the Democratic base, and his return to the White House comes as Biden has struggled to boost his poll numbers in the face of a flurry of challenges, most notably soaring inflation, The Hill Noted.

The appearance by Obama was mainly to promote the Affordable Care Act, the former president’s signature piece of legislation during his time in office.

After Obama spoke, Biden then announced when he stepped up to the podium, “My name is Joe Biden. I’m Barack Obama’s Vice President.”

“And I’m Jill Biden’s husband. By the way, the only reason Jill is not here today, she’s working, she’s teaching. So I just wanted to let you know that’s why she’s not here,” Biden added.
