‘Fact-checkers’ have been working overtime to clarify statements by Joe Biden as technically not calling to defund police, so we won’t make any claims here as to what presidential candidate Joe Biden truly thinks about the ‘defund the police’ movement.
We do know Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has called to totally abolish the Minneapolis Police department and we do know Biden has said ‘yes’ to ‘redirecting’ some police funding.
But the video below shows him saying that President Trump is the only one calling to defund the police. President Trump has run on supporting the police and as the ‘law and order’ candidate. We’re not sure about what Biden cites in his video as to why he thinks Trump wants to defund police but it does seem somewhat backward and ludicrous to us. Watch Joe Biden:
Joe Biden says that “the only person calling to defund the police is Donald Trump.”

Recently President Trump has called violent protesters ‘thugs’ in a tweet. Only recently did Biden even condemn violent rioting and looting, and he previously did photo ops with ‘Black Lives Matter’ protesters while kneeling before them. Trump tweeted about rioters and Joe Biden:
“They are not “peaceful protesters”, as Sleepy Joe and the Democrats call them, they are THUGS – And it is all taking place in Democrat run cities. Call me and request Federal HELP. We will solve your problems in a matter of minutes – And thanks to the U.S. Marshalls in Portland!”

Recently the nation’s largest police union has endorsed President for his re-election on November 3rd. Fox News reported in part:
The head of the nation’s largest police union said Saturday that members endorsed President Trump for reelection because of his strong call for law and order.
“Overwhelmingly it was unanimous to support President Trump,” Fraternal Order of Police President Patrick Yoes said on “Cavuto Live.”
“We’ve worked very closely with President Trump over the last four years on many initiatives,” Yoes said. “One of them was the First Step Act, which is the largest police reform act that’s happened in recent time. And we were very proud to be the only labor organization that stood and recognized that we want to find ways to improve and better the criminal justice system.”
