When asked at yesterday’s press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre backed up Joe Biden after he called the “MAGA Republican” philosophy semi-fascism at a Thursday Democratic fundraiser.
A White House reporter gave Jean-Pierre an out when he asked a question about Biden’s labeling of his political opponents, but she even took it a step further by claiming that they fit the “definition” of fascism.
“On the semi-fascism comment, is it something that we are going to hear more of, that phrase, is it something the president is going to kind of embrace or is there any sense that it was a little impromptu and it is going to turn into a ‘basket of deplorables’ thing that he kind of regrets and then tries to be quiet about,” the reporter wondered.
Jean-Pierre responded, “I was very clear when laying out and defining what MAGA Republicans have done and you look at the definition of fascism and you think about what they’re doing in attacking our democracy, what they’re doing in taking away our freedoms, taking away, wanting to take away our rights, our voting rights. That is what that is.”
“It is very clear and that is what he made with that powerful speech that he made last night and he has not shied away from saying that,” Jean-Pierre added.
Commentator Michael Knowles shared a clip of Jean-Pierre’s response and said, “I would bet my life savings that Karine Jean-Pierre has never even heard of, much less read, the essay by Mussolini and Giovanni Gentile that defines the doctrine of fascism.”
“To the libs, fascism simply means ‘something I do not like,'” Knowles noted.

RNC spokesperson Nathan Brand responded to Biden’s comments in a statement where he called them, “Despicable.”
“Biden forced Americans out of their jobs, transferred money from working families to Harvard lawyers, and sent our country into a recession while families can’t afford gas and groceries,” Brand continued.
Brand concluded, “Democrats don’t care about suffering Americans — they never did.”
