White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre held a press briefing today and refused to take any questions from Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
After the briefing, Doocy appeared on Fox News’ “America Reports” and was asked by co-host John Roberts why he was passed over by the press secretary.
“I don’t know why,” Doocy said with a smile as he shrugged his shoulders before he explained, “If I would’ve had an opportunity to ask a question, the first one that I have on my sheet was, ‘Why is President Biden going to Wilmington today? Isn’t that a potential crime scene?”
Doocy then noted, “We are not getting a ton of new information today about the president’s knowledge on the probe, about his thoughts on the probe, everything is being referred to either the private lawyer, Bob Bower, or the special counsel Richard Sauber, the special counsel here at the White House, basically the president’s government lawyer.”
“Karine Jean-Pierre said today that she was not involved in any of the decisions to go public, about how to go public with any of this and so it seems like, and today there were more questions about other topics besides the growing document scandal – I think we can call it a scandal at this point – so it’s unclear how much more there is going to be, how much more new information from the White House we are going to get about any of this other than that they take it seriously and they are going to cooperate,” Doocy explained.
Co-host Sandra Smith pointed out that Jean-Pierre said that Biden wouldn’t “address hypotheticals” in regard to sitting for an on-the-record interview on the situation.
“Right, but if they are going to fully cooperate and somebody from the DOJ or special counsel’s office says we need an interview with the president then the answer would be yes that they would be submitting to an interview subjecting the president to the special counsel’s questions,” Doocy responded.
Doocy concluded the interview by suggesting that perhaps the special counsel won’t be satisfied with White House officials saying that the search for documents is complete and that they may want to do their own search.
“If they want to fully cooperate, then they’ve got to let them in,” Doocy deadpanned.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, Jean-Pierre was left speechless by Doocy after he asked a question that Joe Biden asked once about Trump and classified documents.
