In a social media post to TikTok, comedian Kathy Griffin revealed that she has been having a mental health battle with an “extreme” case of PTSD.
“You can laugh or whatever, but I’ve been diagnosed with complex PTSD. They call it an extreme case,” Griffin admitted.
Griffin didn’t necessarily reveal what might have caused it, but did say in an Instagram post, “I have been diagnosed with complex PTSD and for the last year and a half I have been plagued with terrifying panic attacks.”
“Sometimes they last a few hours or more typically, they last at least a full day if not multiple days in a row,” Griffin explained.
This isn’t the first time that Griffin has discussed having issues with her health. In August 2022, we reported that she was “ghosted” by a cancer doctor:
Griffin recently took to social media to seek help and sympathy. She says after complications with cancer, she can’t get an oncologist on the phone and that ”her surgeon has ghosted her”.
As for her PTSD diagnosis, Griffin admitted, “I feel silly even telling you this, because I always thought PTSD was just for veterans and stuff.”
“During my attacks, I typically vomit quite a bit and often have to go to the ER just to get IV fluids,” Griffin added.
As we previously noted, Griffin has mocked her political enemies when they were at their worst, including former President and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
