Katy Perry Shares Picture of Her Voting for Rick Caruso For Mayor, ‘Because Los Angeles is a Hot Mess’

Pop singer Katy Perry today shared a picture of herself voting for Rick Caruso for Mayor and added in the comments that she is voting “Because Los Angeles is a hot mess.”

Caruso is running for mayor as a Democrat but has registered as a Republican in the past. Both Caruso and his opponent Karen Bass appear on the ballot with no party affiliation in the picture that Perry shared.

Bass is a Democratic U.S. House Rep for California currently, but the opportunity to be in charge of one of the largest cities in the world was apparently too good to pass up.

Perry has been outspoken in support of “women’s rights” in the past and a quote tweet with a video that seems to support candidates that would “protect” them.

In her Instagram post that showed her voting for Caruso, Perry declared, “I am voting for a myriad of reasons (see the news) but in particular because Los Angeles is a hot mess atm.”

Apparently concerned about backlash, Perry disabled the comments on her post.

Bass has been attacking Caruso by playing a clip of Fox News’ Dana Perino calling him the GOP candidate on “The Five.”

In one recent tweet, Bass said, “If you know someone thinking about voting for Rick Caruso, the anti-choice Republican billionaire, now is a great time to give them a call and remind them what’s at stake this election.”

“Friends don’t let friends vote for candidates endorsed by Fox News,” Bass added.

Perry has signaled support for Caruso in the past, as she declared in a June tweet, “Rick Caruso FTW.”

  1. Cheap shots, Hollywood.

Vote by mail has been going on for weeks. So now on election eve you all the sudden come out to support Caruso?

Thanks for nothing. Your types are not escaping blame if Bass wins and the Democrat cesspit of LA gets even worse.

  2. The “hot mess” is being able to vote a day before the ONE day set aside for the last 175 years.

  3. Katy Perry is “One Hot Mess”. Absolutely Nobody cares…
