Kayleigh McEnany Condemns Ottawa Police’s Crackdown on Protest: Their ‘Tweets Have Been Eye-Opening and Out of Control’

Fox News’s Kayleigh McEnany condemned Ottawa Police’s crackdown on the trucker’s protest of COVID mandates which began Thursday.

McEnany quote tweeted a viral tweet from the Ottawa Police where they declared, “If you are involved in this protest, we will actively look to identify you and follow up with financial sanctions and criminal charges. #ottawa #ottnews”

In response, McEnany insisted, “This is just unreal. The Ottawa Police tweets have been eye-opening and out of control…”

“They had this one too: “IMPORTANT: Anyone attempting to bring material support (gas etc.) to the demonstrators could be subject to arrest. Enforcement is underway,'” McEnany added.

In a recent tweet, the Ottawa Police reported, “After several warnings to the protestors occupying Coventry Road, a deadline was given to clear the area by 4:30 pm today. A police operation is now underway to ensure the area is vacated. #ottawa #ottnews

Many on the left have applauded the Ottawa Police for their crackdown on the trucker protests, despite being against the police during the BLM protests.

The Defiant L’s Twitter feed highlighted a Justin Trudeau post from 2020 in contrast with the tweet that McEnany highlighted.

Trudeau said at the time, “While many of us are working from home, there are others who aren’t able to do that – like the truck drivers who are working day and night to make sure our shelves are stocked.”

“So when you can, please #ThankATrucker for everything they’re doing and help them however you can,” Trudeau had urged.
