Kevin McCarthy Calls Out Nancy Pelosi’s ‘Hypocrisy’ For Her Previous Condemnation of Trump’s Travel Ban

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) today called out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), accusing her of “hypocrisy” for her previous condemnation of Trump’s travel ban.

As we reported earlier, both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris issued tweets condemning the travel ban at the beginning of last year and McCarthy shared a tweet and a statement that Pelosi made at the time.

Pelosi had said, “The Trump Admin’s expansion of its un-American travel ban is a threat to our security, our values and the rule of law. Barring more than 350 million people from predominantly African countries from traveling to the US, this rule is discrimination disguised as policy.”

“In the coming weeks, the House will bring the NO BAN Act to the Floor to prohibit religious discrimination in our immigration system and limit the President’s ability to impose such biased and bigoted restrictions,” Pelosi added.

The “No Ban Act” passed the House this year but has yet to be passed in the senate, which is probably a good thing for the Biden administration.

McCarthy said of Pelosi’s condemnation of Trump’s ban, “Each passing day, we recognize the Democrats’ plan for covid was to politicize and penalize.”

“From vaccines to travel restrictions—what they said was once evil is now prudent. Their hypocrisy is stunning,” McCarthy declared.

McCarthy and Republicans have been criticized for giving in too easily to the Democrats and that was certainly clear today when U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) apologized for a joke she made about U.S. House Rep Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Omar was one of the biggest critics of the ban that was passed by Trump at the time and after the “No Ban Act” was passed in the House earlier this year, she claimed, “The Muslim ban will forever be a moral stain on our country’s history.”

It is unlikely she will consider the latest travel ban to be the same, which just goes to show how often “racism” is used as a political tool for the left.

U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) recently tweeted, “I just got off a good call with @GOPLeader. We spent time talking about solving problems not only in the conference, but for our country. I like what he has planned ahead.”
