Republicans picked up at least 10 seats in last month’s elections that were held by Democratic incumbents, while not losing a single seat already held by a Republican.
Politico reporter John Bresnahan shared a picture earlier of House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer “with Democrats not coming back next year after losing on Election Day.”
Bresnahan reported that Hoyer told a “story about elections he lost.” He quoted Hoyer as saying, “Do not lose heart.”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy retweeted the picture and shared a picture of his own, walking by himself through what appeared to be the same room, and said, “Here’s a group photo of me with all the House Republicans who lost races this year.”

Among the two outstanding races, Iowa certified results last week after a district-wide recount, giving the victory to Republican incumbant Mariannette Miller-Meeks.
Democratic challenger Rita Hart isn’t accepting defeat and the House of Representatives will likely have the final say in the Iowa Congressional race.
Judge DelConte held a video conference hearing with lead attorneys from both campaigns yesterday in the other undecided race between Republican Claudia Tenney and incumbent Democrat Anthony Brindisi.
The candidates are now awaiting the judge’s critical ruling in the New York Congressional race.
