Kevin McCarthy Says Election ‘Far From Over, Republicans Will Not Back Down From This Battle’

With some Republicans in a rush to appease the mainstream media and Democrats who who want President Trump to concede the election and for any accusations of voter fraud to cease, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is standing with the president.

In a tweet earlier, he said that the election is “Far from over. Republicans will not back down from this battle.”

Prior to that, he had retweeted Ivanka Trump, who said, “Every legally cast vote should be counted. Every illegally cast vote should not. This should not be controversial. This is not a partisan statement — free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy.”

McCarthy shared a clip from his appearance on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News Show that he appeared on last night, and said, “Republicans will not be silenced. We demand transparency. We demand accuracy. And we demand that the legal votes be protected.”

In the clip, he said, “They didn’t defeat one Republican incumbent and they lost 15. President Trump won this election, so everyone who is listening, do not be quiet.”

“Do not be silent about this, we cannot allow this to happen before our very eyes, we need to unite together. And you don’t need to be a Republican, if you believe every legal vote needs to count, if you believe in the American process, let’s join together and stop this,” he added.

A Steve Benen article for MSNBC stated that “As a practical matter, Kevin McCarthy’s willingness to peddle such nonsense doesn’t have much of an effect: no one much cares who the California congressman thinks won the election. But it’s not irrelevant, either.”

Kelsey Vlamis wrote a Business Insider article which said that “he recited baseless claims about fraudulent voting activity” on Ingraham’s show.
