Kevin McCarthy Won’t Support Biden Impeachment Despite Calls from GOP Lawmakers, ‘Not Going to Use it for Political Purposes’

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is looking like he wants to stay in the “minority”. This may not be his goal, but exuding weakness is what many feel caused Republicans to continue losing, while Democrats steamroll them with radical ideas and ruthless tactics, whether practical and fair or not.

We say this because McCarthy is denying other Republicans the chance to try to impeach Biden effectively by not going along with the idea, although they may not have had the numbers, to begin with.

This latest statement by McCarthy however, sends a loud message that is louder than his claims of supporting former President Donald Trump for a comeback. Could McCarthy be claiming to be a Trump ally but secretly trying to sideline him instead?

Sometimes it takes time for things to surface to show what is really going on behind the scenes in “long game” political strategies. If Donald Trump wants a dramatic comeback, he’ll probably have to stay creative and not be trusting of the establishment GOP, as he was in 2015 and 2016.

McCarthy recently spoke to Maria Bartiromo and gave some insight on where he stands.

“I spoke with one of your colleagues on Friday on Fox Business, Greg Murphy, and he told me that all of the things he is seeing from President Biden are impeachable, but the congress is worried about impeaching him because they’re not so confident about his number 2. Here’s Greg Murphy, I want to get your reaction to this, watch:” and Bartiromo plays a clip of Murphy. Murphy:

“I think there’s going to be plenty afoot, there’s plenty if you look at Afghanistan, if you look at the border crisis, you look at so many of these different things. The sad thing is Maria, look at his number 2. I think number 2 is worse than number 1. So this is the predicament that we’re in. But these offenses that this president has done, against the heart and soul of this country, against law and order, I think stands our grounds for impeachable offenses”.

Bartiromo: “Congressman, what about that, will you move to impeach President Biden?”

McCarthy: “Look, the one thing we learned that the Democrats did is they used impeachment for political reason, we believe in the rule of law, we’re not going to pick and choose just because somebody has power, we’re going to uphold the law. If at anytime someone breaks the law and the ramification becomes impeachment, we would move towards that. But we’re not going to use it for political purposes. Our focus is going to by securing our border, making us energy independent, bringing these prices down, making our schools safe and our streets again, and holding this administration accountable, and we will take the facts to wherever the facts go because America’s been through too much with people playing politics with the concept of impeachment, but if it rises to that level, we would have the law determine that”.

Many may say McCarthy still left impeachment on the table. But if you read between the lines, it doesn’t sound like it’s something he’s planning. Whether or not people believe Biden shouldn’t be impeached because Kamala Harris may be worse, or if both could be impeached, doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to political messaging.
