The “King of Country” George Strait sent a message out on Facebook today following the news of fellow country artist Joe Diffie’s passing yesterday from the Coronavirus. Strait asked people to pray for the world and President Trump.
We’ve lost one of our own now to this silent enemy. That really hit home to me. I worked with Joe in the past. Great guy and hugely talented singer and entertainer. Let’s pray for his family and for all those who are affected by this terrible virus. We are going to win. Please stay home, healthy and well. Pray for your family, friends, first responders, health care providers, our President and the world.
Diffie wrote more than a dozen Top 10 hits. Other country stars have tweeted out their condolences and messages as well including Trace Adkins Carrie Underwood, and Brad Paisley.
Oh my God. One of the all-time GREAT vocalists. Joe Diffie was my friend. RIP, buddy.

I’m devastated by the loss of my friend Joe Diffie. I can’t find adequate words. But the records he made, that voice, the twinkle in his eye, and our memories cannot be taken away by this disease. Please celebrate his music today everyone, go listen again to his records.
