LA Mayor Begs People to Stay Home For Labor Day Weekend, Then Urges Them to ‘Help Conserve Energy’ By Turning Things Off

The Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, had a message on Saturday for his citizens, telling them to “stay home” to stop the spread of COVID-19, but to have a “good Labor Day.” He blamed Memorial Day and Fourth of July gatherings for increasing the numbers earlier this year.

He also told them to “stay cool,” as the city has been in the middle of a heat wave. On Sunday however, with concern about the state’s electrical grid being able to handle the capacity, he issued another tweet.

“It’s almost 3 p.m. Time to turn off major appliances, set the thermostat to 78 degrees (or use a fan instead), turn off excess lights and unplug any appliances you’re not using. We need every Californian to help conserve energy. Please do your part,” he said.

That tweet got the attention of many including Eric Trump, Chef Andrew Gruel, former MLB star Aubrey Huff, and others, who were incredulous at the request.

Hard to believe this tweet is real from the Mayor of LA. This is what the democrats will do to this country… #Blackouts

0% chance Garcetti is sitting in a house with his AC off.

I had my thermostat at 65 degrees today, with the windows open & every light on. At least 40 people were at my house getting s**t faced @MayorOfLA with no mask on.

You are a problem. Your city is a disgrace. The homeless population is out of control. Many are veterans. It is time to step aside and let the next man in.

Only Democrats would turn a once great American state into a third world country.

GOP activist Scott Presler was in LA yesterday to do a cleanup of a homeless camp and he said “I’ve never seen the homeless crisis as bad as it is in Los Angeles.”
