Lauren Boebert Calls For ABC to put George Stephanopoulos ‘On the Bench’ After His ‘Vile Treatment’ of Nancy Mace

On Monday, U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) called for ABC to put host George Stephanopoulos “on the bench” after his “vile treatment” of U.S. House Rep Nancy Mace (R-SC).

In an interview on Monday, Mace repeatedly accused Stephanopoulos of trying to shame her for her support of former President and GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

Boebert declared in a post on X, “ABC should put George Stephanopoulos on the bench after his vile treatment of @NancyMace yesterday.”

“She was there to discuss the 2024 race and instead Stephanopoulos brings up her rape to try and score points against Trump,” Boebert explained.

Boebert concluded, “Absolutely abhorrent behavior.”

While Stephanopoulos didn’t directly reference Mace’s previous rape, he did appear to infer it by asking how she does she “square” her endorsement of Trump based on the fact that he was held liable for rape in the E. Jean Carroll case.

Mace told Stephanopoulos, “I will tell you, I was raped at the age of 16 and any rape victim will tell you, I’ve lived for 30 years with an incredible amount of shame over being raped. I didn’t come forward because of that judgment and shame that I felt.”

“I’m not going to sit here on your show and be asked a question meant to shame me about another potential rape victim. I’m not going to do that,” Mace insisted.

Stephanopoulos attempted to object, but Mace told him, “You’re asking me a question about my political choices trying to shame me as a rape victim, and I find it disgusting.”
