In tonight’s CNN Democrat presidential debate between former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders (D), a question was posed about turning over illegal immigrants to ICE, or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, if arrested for another crime. Although Biden previously hinted that he would support deportations of Felons who are here illegally, he, at least partially walked that back when the question came up.
Both presidential candidates answered the question with a no, without hesitation. This is virtually a commitment to lawlessness. “Should undocumented immigrants arrested by local police be turned over to immigration officials?” Joe Biden posed a simple no and Bernie outdid with an emphatic, “of course not!” See video below:

Around the same time, comedian and actor Norm MacDonald appeared to indirectly respond to their weak immigration rhetoric. Despite Bernie Sanders’ (earlier in tonight’s debate) claim that he is not an open borders supporter, it only seemed to be soft talk on anything to do with immigration, legal, illegal, or anything in between. MacDonald apparently thought something was fishy with the radical left-wing positions of the two of them, tweeting out “We are a nation of illegal immigrants?”
We are a nation of illegal immigrants?

It remains to be seen of course if either of these two Democrats somehow manages to beat President Trump in November if these are their exact positions in reality. Often with politicians, we get double-speak during candidacies, and more watered down action, once they get elected. In this particular situation though, border security advocates should expect the worst, as our nation as a whole appears to drift more and more to the left, with a few exceptions.
