Leo “2.0” Terrell let former CIA Director Mike Pompeo know he doesn’t like the digs he is taking at former President Trump.
On Fox News Sunday, Shannon Bream asked Pompeo, “Are you saying that President Trump wasn’t a true conservative leader?” To which Pompeo retorted, “Six trillion dollars more in debt, that’s never the right direction for the country.”
Terrell quote tweeted the clip of the former CIA Director adding, “I like you Mike, however, I do not like you throwing President Trump under the bus. p.s. I am voting for Trump!”
Terrell then added a video, with his thoughts on Haley and Pompeo’s candidacies as well as the swipes they have taken at the former president.
Speculation has mounted that Pompeo is considering a run for president himself, he has said he “will figure that out and let anyone know.” While he is taking shots at the former president, he is also trying to downplay them it seems in an attempt to try to stay off Trump’s radar.
He added about his comments, “It’s not about former President Trump, it’s not about President Biden,” and that they were meant to address, “thoughtfulness and a weightiness and a seriousness that we’ve kind of moved away from.”
Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy have all formally announced that they will seek to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election. There are quite a few others including, Pompeo, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) who are speculated to be announcing sometime this year.
Polling seems to show that former President Trump has a strong lead over announced and speculated competition.
