Amy Siskind is a liberal activist who we last mentioned in an article because she was furious at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for declining to call witnesses at former President Trump’s impeachment trial, where he later was acquitted.
Since yesterday’s mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado, she has issued a series of tweets expressing various opinions, some which have turned out to be incorrect.
Regarding Ahmad Al-Issa, who has been identified by authorities as the gunman who opened fire at a King Soopers grocery store in Colorado, killing 10 people, including a Boulder police officer, Siskind said yesterday that “The shooter is was taken into custody. In other words it was almost certainly a white man (again). If he were Black or Brown he would be dead.”

In other words it was almost certainly a white man (again). If he were Black or Brown he would be dead.
After his name was revealed today, Siskind tweeted, “Let’s mourn the victims, but not glorify the killer with the attention of having his name widely known.”

Act for America founder Brigitte Gabriel responded incredulously and asked, “Why? Because his name is Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa?”
Siskind replied back to Gabriel with an unsourced chart showing the race of “mass shooters” between 1982 and 2021, with most of them being white.
“His name does not determine skin color. Nor does his religion. His skin appears white, and by the numbers the vast majority of mass shooters are committed by white men,” Siskind insisted.

Recently, a mugshot was released by police of Al-Issa, which is certainly better quality than the initial shirtless picture that was released yesterday of him in custody.

As we previously reported, Siskind is not the only one to jump the gun (no pun intended) in speculating on the race of the shooter:
Today in the aftermath of the King Sooper shooting in Boulder, CO it has come to light that yesterday’s shooting suspect is Ahmad Al Issa. Issa of middle eastern descent is speculated to be from Syria, living most of his life in the United States. Issa is a Muslim and reports are coming out that he may have sworn allegiance to ISIS right before the shooting.
However, before any of this was known many took to Twitter to spew their anti-white rhetoric in hopes that the shooter would fit their narrative of a white male.
One such individual is writer CJ Werleman self-proclaimed activist against Islamophobia, without any evidence tweeted, “The suspect gunman in the Boulder, Colorado mass shooting is a white guy. Seven reported dead! Cue “mental issues,” “bad day,” “parking dispute,” or anything else other than what he most likely is a white domestic terrorist.” The irony in his statement is that now that we know this to be incorrect it is very unlikely Werleman would apply the same language to the shooter and call him an Islamic domestic terrorist.
Werleman was certainly not alone with the anti-white sentiment that came pouring forth on Twitter. Race and Inclusion Editor at USA TODAY Hemal Jhaveri tweeted “it’s always an angry white man. always.” Her tweet was screenshotted by another user and can be seen below. Jhaveri has doubled down on her anti-white rhetoric with another tweet even after it became clear she was wrong. “Yep. Not gonna happen.” with the retweet of another woman staying, “My in-box and DMs are full of extremely upset white men who don’t give a damn about mass shootings but are demanding I issue a blanket apology to white men. To which I say . . . NO.” Some may gather from her tweets that she has a strong dislike for white men.
Twitter use Alex Cole also took to Twitter to assume the shooter was a white man and decided to add on to the anti-white rhetoric with “Right down the street, police killed Elijah McClain while he apologized for not doing anything wrong”. All of this in the light that Yesterday one of the victims was also a Boulder police officer. Elijah McClain was shot in the town of Aurora Colorado a town approximately an hour away from Boulder. Cole adds his Instagram page requesting that people “Follow me on Instagram”.
“A white man walked into a grocery store in Boulder, killed 10 people, and was apprehended by the police and walked out of the building completely unharmed. Right down the street, police killed Elijah McClain while he apologized for not doing anything wrong.”
Another Twitter user David Hoffman who appears to be a white male himself decided to hone in on a more specific category of white men with his tweet. “I’ll bet anyone my salary right now that the shooter in boulder is right wing, MAGA, white male”. People may wonder who he will be giving his salary to.
Lawyer and Author from San Fransico Meena Harris appears to give an apology for a tweet she has since deleted but decided to blame it on the “majority of mass shootings in the U.S. are carried out by white men.” This sham apology doesn’t excuse her anti-white rhetoric or her attempt to justify it to herself to her followers.
