Yesterday, we reported that U.S. House Rep Liz Cheney (R-WY), who has turned on former President Donald Trump, been censured by her home GOP, and can barely muster up a dozen people to show up to a Zoom conference call, wasn’t ruling out a possible run for president in 2024.
Trump issued a statement through his Save America PAC today mocking the news about Cheney where he slammed her poll numbers and claimed that he believes she is “looking for a way out” to avoid losing in next year’s Congressional primary.
“Liz Cheney is polling sooo low in Wyoming, and has sooo little support, even from the Wyoming Republican Party, that she is looking for a way out of her Congressional race,” Trump began in the statement.
Trump continued, “Based on all the polling, there is no way she can win. She’ll either be yet another lobbyist or maybe embarrass her family by running for President, in order to save face.”
“This warmongering fool wants to stay in the Middle East and Afghanistan for another 19 years, but doesn’t consider the bigger picture,” Trump concluded, saying that the bigger picture was “Russia and China!”

Today, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) also took shots at Cheney when asked by CNN reporter Manu Raju about Cheney’s criticism of his decision to challenge the 2020 presidential results.
Hawley said that the Trump hater is “really out of step with GOP voters” and has abandoned her GOP colleagues repeatedly.
Raju reported that Hawley said, “This is somebody who has no support in her own caucus, who has hung her own members out to dry over and over. I think she’s on an island.”
Appearing to reference next year’s election, Hawley added, “Obviously she’s got to stand before voters, but I think that she certainly doesn’t speak for the vast majority of Republicans or people in my state.”
