Project Veritas has been helping Ivory Hecker, who went rogue live on the air while working for a local Fox News affiliate in Houston, Texas. First, they released videos to allow her to tell her story of why she turned on her station. Hecker, as we reported previously, felt she was muzzled and not allowed to tell the truth. This, in her view, went against her journalistic integrity and she felt like she had to speak out.
Based on the Project Veritas video, it appears as though other employees of the station felt similarly to Hecker, but hadn’t yet felt it was enough to stand up to their bosses. Project Veritas sent out an email, which we recently got a copy of, saying that Hecker had raised $90,000.
But by the time we opened the link, it was already up to nearly $135,000. The crowdfunding site appears to be a Christian website. We think this might be the website they chose because GoFundMe is known to pull fundraisers when they are too politically controversial, and some may even feel they have a left-leaning bias as well.
We aren’t sure if the site they are using will be reliable for Hecker, but for now, it seems, she is raising enough money to compensate for losing her job, at least for the short-term future. It’s hard to say yet what her long-term plans will be. The content of the email sent out about Hecker’s fundraiser reads:
Ivory Hecker, who has been fired from Fox 26 Houston for telling the truth, needs The Veritas Army’s support now more than ever.
Ivory blew the whistle on corporate media wrongdoing because she cares about the viewers — she cares about reporting the truth to The American People.
