Mayra Flores ‘Proud’ of Her Daughter For Being Unfazed After Pelosi ‘Pushed’ Her During Swearing-In Ceremony

U.S. House Rep Mayra Flores (R-TX) addressed the incident that occurred during her swearing-in ceremony last night in a tweet.

As we previously reported, video from the ceremony showed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) elbowing her daughter at one point.

Flores quote tweeted James Woods who had shared a clip of the incident and said, “I love this princess stood her ground, while Nancy showed her true colors.”

In the quote tweet, Flores declared:

“I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her.”

“She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen.”

“No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!”

One liberal Twitter user told Flores in response, “You can’t be serious. I just watched the video and she nudged her. Big whoop”

A conservative Twitter user, however, replied to Flores, “I know many are shrugging this off like it’s not that big of a deal, but I just can’t imagine a scenario where I would ever do that to someone else’s child.”

Pelosi’s Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill addressed the situation in a tweet where he shared a Fox News article on Flores’ response and claimed, “It’s sad to see ‘news outlets’ that know better misrepresent the Speaker’s effort to ensure Rep. Flores’ daughters wouldn’t be hidden behind her in all of the photos of such an important moment for their family.”
