Media Caves, CNN Finally Reports on Cannon Hinnant Murder After Tucker Carlson Segment Exposes Blackout

#CannonHinnant has been trending on social media for days. Many important figures including Michelle Malkin have pleaded for President Trump and the mainstream media to pick up the story.

Last Sunday, nearly a week ago, five-year-old and White Cannon Hinnant was brutally murdered by Black Darius Sessoms via point blank gunshot to the head. Many on social media have said that this doesn’t fit the current (and ongoing) racial narrative, especially since the George Floyd riots.

Tucker Carlson broke the silence when no one else would, being the lone voice of reason for many shocked Americans. Yesterday was the funeral for Cannon in North Carolina. Lots of local websites have reported that it is hard to see what the motive was other than Cannon going on Sessoms lawn. “What a depraved story” said Tucker, after Rick Leventhal gave the details.

Daily Mail and The Columbia Bugle also kept the story going on the internet while the hashtag continued to trend:

Finally, CNN of all news organizations, picked up the story, less than two hours ago, after 5 days of brutal mainstream media silence. CNN reported a relatively short story on the matter:

Police have charged a 25-year-old man with first-degree murder after they say he shot and killed a 5-year-old boy last week in Wilson, North Carolina. Austin Hinnant told CNN affiliate WRAL he was inside the home when his son, Cannon, was playing outside and was shot.

Hinnant says he ran outside and scooped up the injured child and held him in his arms.”I screamed ‘somebody help me, please help me save my son,'” he said.

Hinnant told the affiliate he looked up and saw his neighbor, Darius Sessoms, in the yard next door with a gun in hand, pacing and frantic.

Darius Sessoms”I was looking at him as I was picking up Cannon, and I was so full of rage, but I could not leave my son’s side,” he said. “I just wanted to be with my son.

“Hinnant’s fiancé called 911, he said, and Sessoms drove away.In a news release, the Wilson Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 5100 block of Archers Road on August 9 in reference to a shooting and found a 5-year-old suffering a gunshot wound, who later died at a nearby hospital.

Police identified Sessoms as a suspect and arrested him after he was found Monday in a Goldsboro residence about 30 minutes south of Wilson. It is unclear if Sessoms has an attorney.

Who will follow the lead and tell the tale that nobody wants to tell? Or will it be quickly reported as something unremarkable and then brushed under the carpet despite the obvious outrage there would be if the racial tables were turned?

  1. A life sentence is not justice. The only hope here is that justice will be meted out in prison.
