Impeachment was the first point of conversation on ‘The View’ today, and the way the conversation ended was explosive. President Trump really doesn’t have any fans that host regularly on The View.
They have one ‘conservative’ commentator, Meghan McCain who doesn’t think highly of the President.
Wednesday the House is set to vote on impeachment, and if it passes it will head to the Senate. ‘The View’ highlighted how Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) both have made it clear that they stand with the White House. This was followed by Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY) Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee saying “That’s a violation of the oath they’re about to take and a complete subversion of the constitutional scheme.” Whoopi questions whether or not McConnell and Graham admit they are ready to violate their constitutional duty setting the framework for the conversation that follows.
The liberal hosts all join in confirming that it’s not right how these Republicans are approaching the impeachment. McCain asks, “how is that any different than Representative Talib on election night saying “we’re gonna impeach the m*therf*$%^”r?” pointing to the partisanship on both sides throughout that people are tuning out at this point.
Abby Huntsman does point out that she doesn’t believe that there is enough on the president to impeach him and that the abuse of power isn’t enough in her eyes. She goes on to say “I want it to be on the American people. I think at this point the American people need to look in the mirror and say what do we want representing us, this country and you need to vote on that next election. ”
Whoopi points out that people are afraid of the divide between the parties and points to McCain stating she talks about it all the time. McCain seems to take offense to the comment. McCain explains that she spends most of her time away from work with conservatives who view this whole impeachment as completely partisan on the left. McCain also says “if I were a Democrat I would be out there on the front lines trying to change their mind (conservatives).”
Joy Behar chimed in that if President Trump were to testify under oath “the lie machine will explode.”
McCain and Sunny Hostin get a little combative and it looks like Whoopi tries to take the conversation back over. When that fails Whoopi interjects loudly at McCain with “Girl please stop talking please stop talking right now ‘cause you know what’s happening.” and the conversation devolved from there. You can see the exchange in a tweet below.
Twitter was full of tweets about the exchange.

Judging by her own liberal audience's reaction (boos and murmurs), I don't think the optics looked great.pic.twitter.com/sJn25TJaEi
"Girl, please stop talking" needs to be on a t-shirt ASAP.
