Actress and activist Alyssa Milano got set straight yesterday on ABC’s “The View” after she tried to use unproven accusations against Twitter owner Elon Musk to justify her decision to switch from Tesla to VW.
Milano was apparently on the show to discuss her work with UNICEF and she also got another dig in at Musk in relation to that by suggesting he should have donated the money he used to buy Twitter.
Co-host Joy Behar told Milano that her name “popped up” over the weekend over the decision to switch her vehicle and asked her what happened.
“I mean for me, speaking of #MeToo, when he was accused of sexual misconduct and paid out $250k to this person, I decided like I can’t live in that hypocrisy of driving that car when… that happened,” Milano claimed.
“I’m so annoyed with all of these billionaires with the exception of a few, but especially Elon Musk, you buy Twitter to destroy it for $40 billion, $40 billion, Elon Musk, imagine if he donated that money to UNICEF, he would change the world, there would be no hunger.”
Behar and co-host Whoopi Goldberg also chimed in before co-host Sunny Hostin jumped in to set the record straight so the show doesn’t get sued.
“I do have a legal note, Elon Musk has denied these allegations of sexual misconduct, calling them utterly untrue,” Hostin explained.
Milano said that while she will stay on Twitter, she always opens Twitter “with a helmet on because I’m always afraid something will come out and hit me.”
Goldberg, who has left Twitter, tried to tell Milano that she should also leave the platform but clearly wasn’t successful.
Milano shared a clip of the exchange in a quote tweet of “The View’s” Twitter account and said, “A message to @elonmusk.”
