Michigan Election Hearing Witness Melissa Carone Announces That She’s Running for State House Seat

Conservative activist Melissa Carone, who testified during a Michigan hearing on election fraud, announced recently that she is running for a local state House seat in 2022.

Carone, a former contractor for Dominion Voting Systems, confirmed Friday that she’s running for Michigan’s 46th house district in Oakland County on a platform of election integrity.

Carone said that the reason for running and her “ultimate goal is to get our ballots hand-counted and clean out Lansing just like draining the swamp in D.C. because that’s what we need.”

Republican John Reilly currently is the representative for that district and he was elected in last year’s election to his third consecutive two-year term.

The Michigan legislature is one of 15 state legislatures with term limits and the House only allows for three terms so this will be Reilly’s last and the seat will be open when Carone runs.

District lines will be redrawn by then, however, so it remains to be seen how the district will look, but Reilly won it with 62% of the vote, so if Carone is the nominee, it would be a lock unless there is some serious redistricting.

When asked about the Jan. 6 siege on the U.S. Capitol, Carone said, “Everyone that knows me knows that I’m not a dangerous individual and that I’m totally against violence,” and then added that she believes, “What’s dangerous is somebody stealing the election.”

Carone wrote in a Facebook post on Friday, “Thank you for all the support, I will continue fighting for election reform, protecting our constitutional rights as Americans, and fully supporting Donald Trump. We are under attack, we must come together and demand our freedom back!”
