Joe Biden Afghanistan withdrawal has resulted in not only 100-200 American citizens being left behind in Afghanistan but also 51 K-9 soldiers at the Kabul airport. The final American military plane has left the Kabul airport according to officials. Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers responded.
“Joe left the dogs, too.” a picture of some of the military dogs crated in front of a helicopter at the Kabul airport. It appears the account that the picture came from no longer exists however can be seen below in a screenshot.

The American Humane Society issued a statement on the dogs left behind. The statement is titled “Condemns Death Sentence Delivered to Contract Working Dogs Left Behind in Kabul, Afghanistan”.
The statement written by CEO and president Dr. Robin R. Ganzert, starts, “I am devastated by reports that the American government is pulling out of Kabul and leaving behind brave U.S. military contract working dogs to be tortured and killed at the hand of our enemies. These brave dogs do the same dangerous, lifesaving work as our military working dogs, and deserved a far better fate than the one to which they have been condemned.
This senseless fate is made all the more tragic, as American Humane stands ready to not only help transport these contract K-9 soldiers to U.S. soil but also to provide for their lifetime medical care.”
Twitter user Next Republicans points out, “For any people that doubt this…. It is confirmed by the American Humane Society which is not exactly a Right Wing group”.

Casandra Fairbanks tweeted “Impeach f***ing everyone”, with an article about the K-9 soldiers left behind.
Kabul Small Animal Rescue issued an update on their animals at the airport. It appears that the military forcibly released the rescue animals that did not include the working military K-9s. Veteran Sheepdogs of American is still working on getting the 51 K-9 soldiers out of Afghanistan, according to the statement shared by Azure Pufferfish.

It appears that Veteran Sheepdogs of America was able to secure a plane as about two hours ago they tweeted. “We are getting the 51 military dogs out.” This sounds like a positive outlook for the K-9s discarded by Biden.
We are getting the 51 military dogs out.

In an effort to clear up some confusion is the military dogs had been released they tweeted, “UPDATE: The 51 working dogs are being watered and fed by a contractor and an Afghan refugee family we are rescuing. They are safe. Working on last-minute details in complete chaos of Kabul.”

Stranded by the military, it appears that private citizens have stepped up to help get the dogs out of Afghanistan. We hope that no issues arise as it seems a plane has been chartered to get the dogs out.
There seems to be conflicting information, this morning Pentagon press secretary John Kirby tweeted, “To correct erroneous reports, the U.S. Military did not leave any dogs in cages at Hamid Karzai International Airport, including the reported military working dogs. Photos circulating online were animals under the care of the Kabul Small Animal Rescue, not dogs under our care.”

It is unclear what is actually happening at the Kabul airport or if there are any animals at all at the airport. We will continue to monitor and update as we can.
