The saga between President Trump and twice-failed presidential candidate and Utah Senator Mitt Romney (R) just escalated in a bad way, which could cause some Republican Senators to wonder which party Mitt really is a party of. Is it the Republican party, secretly the Democrat party, or perhaps the Mitt Romney party?
It’s any man’s guess at this point. In the wake of China trade disputes, a wildly blown out of proportion ‘whistleblower’ scandal regarding a phone call between Trump and the Ukranian President, and allegations of corruption in the air related to Joe and Hunter Biden, Romney just threw high octane gasoline onto the blaze.
Mitt hasn’t been friendly to Trump, to say the least in the recent past, but they have had sort of an on again off again working relationship over the years. This is most recently shown with Romney commending President Trump for not cutting capital gains tax while simultaneously refraining from endorsing him for the 2020 presidential election.
Now Mitt is throwing himself into the Biden Trump controversy web, and it’s not really a surprise. Breitbart and The American Thinker report that Mitt Romney’s national security adviser for his 2012 presidential campaign sits on the board of the Ukranian gas company Burisma. This is the same company that presidential candidate Joe Biden’s (D) son Hunter worked for, for upwards of $50,000 a month with little international affairs experience.
Joe Biden, also the former vice president, was involved in getting a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma fired by using the threat of withholding U.S. funds. He claims there is no connection though, between this and his son’s employment with Burisma, but doesn’t really like getting into the details. He has also called for President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani to be pulled off the airwaves for talking about it.
Getting to the heart of the matter, Romney shot off a fiery two-part tweet mentioning Trump, Biden and even China, seemingly siding with Joe and Hunter Biden and by proxy the Democrats. He tweeted in full:
“By all appearances, the President’s brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and to Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden is wrong and appalling.
When the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China’s investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the Democratic nomination process, it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated.”

President Trump has repeatedly and vehemently denied anything about his attempts to get the Ukranian president to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden to be anything political. He maintains that he not only was only going after possible corruption relating to the Bidens and Burisma but that he had an obligation to do so.
Recently President Trump trolled Mitt Romney with a video highlighting how Romney is likely angry and disgruntled that he never got elected president like Trump has. This may well have been in response to Romney’s not backing him for 2020. But this Romney tweet takes the feud to a whole new level, and we will monitor the situation to see what happens next.
