OPINION:
NBC News’ Julie Tsirkin reported today that Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) is trying to put the Kibosh on any further political investigations into Hunter Biden and his ties to Burisma and if presidential candidate Joe Biden has any shady ties-dealings as well. Romney doesn’t say if he would support a subpoena, probably referring to Hunter Biden. You can see Tsirkin’s statement in the tweet below and a short video below that of Mitt Romney speaking.
ROMNEY on Ron John’s investigation into Burisma/Biden: “There’s no question but that the appearance of looking into Burisma and Hunter Biden appears political, and I think people are tired of these kind of political investigations.”

It’s ironic that Mitt would have anything other than a neutral stance on this, and doubly ironic that he would say that the “appearance looks political” considering the fact that Romney himself has ties to the allegedly corrupt Ukrainian gas company, Burisma. Trump War room tweeted the NBC report and article from thefederalist.com highlighting the irony stating: “Mitt Romney Adviser Worked With Hunter Biden On Board Of Corrupt Ukrainian Energy Company”, see tweet below:

Back in September of 2019, Shane Trejo of Big League Politics reported on Romney’s connections to Burisma. Trejo reported in part referencing an “American Thinker” scoop:
Romney is clearly more concerned with Trump’s innocuous diplomatic conversation than the potentially criminal actions of former Vice President Joe Biden, who bragged publicly about abusing his authority to get a prosecutor fired who was allegedly investigating a Ukrainian gas company employing his son.
Perhaps Romney doesn’t want to talk about Biden’s abhorrent behavior because of his inner circle’s ties to the same scandal.
The story was noticed in a tweet about a month ago by President Trump and subsequently retweeted as can be seen below:
This all makes it clear that Mitt Romney is the last person to talk about appearances and if anything, he should probably recuse himself of any opinion at all when it comes to Joe and Hunter Biden as it relates to any investigation into Ukraine, Burisma, and other potential corruption, regardless of the fact that Biden just might end up being the presidential nominee for the Democrat party. What is Romney trying to hide?
