With worst case death toll scenarios becoming an increasing possibility, MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough was somber yesterday when describing how Trump “did what a President is supposed to do” during his press conference yesterday. As previously reported, CNN’s Dana Bash also had a change of heart after watching that same press conference.

Scarborough: This press conference was going on I got phone calls from several people saying, “Who is that man?”
Co-Host Mika Brzezinski: Good to hear.
Scarborough: At the press conference, the President was sober, he actually did what a President is supposed to do. He delivered the bad news. There were a couple things that I found remarkable, talking about yes we are going to go into a recession, yes we are and Americans already know that. The 10 people limit went further than most people in the administration were talking about going but limiting gatherings to 10 people, don’t go to restaurants, don’t go to bars, don’t go out. This was a President even talking about saying to his son when asked how it was, “It’s bad but hopefully we can avoid worst case scenarios and bring this in for a landing and have the best case scenario.
The day before, Scarborough had praised the President’s “tone” in a tweet saying, “Donald Trump’s tone is good right now.” He encouraged people to follow the President’s guidelines and that he was “addressing the pandemic in a measured way.”
Donald Trump’s tone is good right now. His guidelines should be followed. For the first time in this crisis, he is addressing this pandemic in a measured way.

He even admitted the pandemic is not under control anywhere in the world. This is a needed change.
