MTG Asks if Adam Kinzinger is Using Ukraine Resolution As His ‘Way of Auditioning for CNN After Congress’

Outgoing U.S. House Rep Adam Kinzinger (IL) announced today that he is introducing “a joint resolution that would authorize the use of U.S. Armed Forces to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine in the event that Vladimir Putin escalates his unjust war against our democratic allies.”

“Words matter, but so do our actions. I’m introducing this AUMF as a clear redline so @POTUS can take appropriate action if Russia uses chemical, biological, and/or nuclear weapons,” Kinzinger declared in a tweet where he shared the resolution.

Kinzinger added that “We must stand up for humanity and we must stand with our allies.”

“As the President of the United States has said, Putin must be stopped. Accordingly, the Commander in Chief to the world’s greatest military should have the authority and means to take the necessary actions to do so,” Kinzinger insisted in a press release announcing the resolution.

In a quote tweet, U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) expressed her displeasure with the resolution that could potentially be seen as provocation by Russia.

Greene asked, “Is this your way of auditioning for CNN after Congress?”

“We pray for the Ukrainian people that are victims of this war, but the US sanction driven food famines & energy crisis being created, & now your push for a hot war with Russia hurts everyone,” Greene explained.

Greene then pointed out, “Like Americans,” and wondered “remember them?”

Newsweek reported yesterday that in response to an article that they published the day prior, Russia has reiterated its claims that the U.S. is preparing “provocations” so it can accuse Moscow of using weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

The op-ed was written by Bonnie Jenkins, who is the U.S. under secretary of state for arms control and international security, on the 25th anniversary of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) coming into force.

The Russian embassy in the U.S. took exception to it and described the comments as “groundless accusations” and that Moscow is “once again unreasonably credited with the presence of undeclared chemical weapons and their use.”
