U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) defended herself yesterday from an attack by lame-duck U.S. House Rep Liz Cheney (R-WY) after she spoke at former President Donald Trump’s “Save America” rally in Iowa.
Cheney shared a clip of Greene speaking to the crowd in a tweet and claimed, “This is exactly what Putin wants. If we’d had Republicans like this in the 1980s, we would have lost the Cold War.”
Greene declared in the clip that “Under Republicans, not another penny will go to Ukraine.”
In response to Cheney’s accusations, Greene told her in a quote tweet, “There are two things that are in the past.”
Greene then listed, “You and your Daddy’s Republican Party that sent our military to fight foreign wars on the backs of American tax dollars and didn’t win a damn thing” and also “You.”
There are two things that are in the past.
— Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene
1. You and your Daddy’s Republican Party that sent our military to fight foreign wars on the backs of American tax dollars and didn’t win a damn thing.
2. You. https://t.co/cneLwdkxQ8(@RepMTG) November 4, 2022
During her speech, Greene called out other “RINO” Republicans, although she didn’t mention Cheney by name.
“Republicans are going to have to be the new Republican Party. We can no longer be the party of Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Dick Cheney, George Bush, and Mitt Romney … or any other sell-out, weak Republican,” Greene insisted.
Trump also dropped his strongest hint yet that he was planning to run for president again in the 2024 election.
“In order to make our country successful and safe and glorious, I will very, very, very probably do it again. OK? Very, very, very probably.” Trump told the crowd.
