NFL Wide Receiver Antonio Brown Has Meltdown During Game and Throws Shirt Into Stands Before Leaving the Field, Gets Cut From Team

NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, who was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, had a meltdown yesterday during a game at the New York Jets.

Brown ended up throwing his shirt into the stands before leaving the field, shirtless and jumping around, gesturing to the fans.

Ian Rapaport reported that Brown’s head coach told him to go into the game but he refused because he said he felt he wasn’t healthy enough.

Brown was then told that he could no longer be on the sidelines and so instead of simply walking back to the locker room, he threw a fit.

Following the game, Head Coach Bruce Arians announced that Brown was no longer a member of the team, which Rapaport reported may have been conveyed to Brown prior to his meltdown.

Video shared in a tweet by a fan from the stands showed Brown first taking off his jersey as fellow wide receiver Mike Evans tried to reason with him.

Arians said of Brown’s meltdown: “Never seen anything like it in all my years.”

Buccaneer Quarterback Tom Brady was empathetic of Brown after the game: “We all love him, we care about him deeply, and want to see him do his best, unfortunately, it won’t be with our team.”

The Buccaneers were down 24-10 at the time of Brown’s outburst but ultimately came back to win the game 28-24.
