NYC Mayor Adams Blames Trump For Spike in Violence Against Asian Americans, Asks Biden to Make a Public Apology on Behalf of the White House

New York City Mayor Eric Adams blamed former President Donald Trump today for a spike in violence against Asian Americans.

Despite the fact that most large cities including NYC vote Democrat and many of the crimes reported were by African Americans attacking Asian Americans, Adams somehow believes it was Trump’s fault because he attempted to hold China responsible for COVID, which is where it originated.

Adams also asked President Joe Biden to make a public apology on behalf of the White House after anti-Asian hate crime reported to police in New York City rose 262% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period a year prior, according to the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University San Bernardino.

Across the nation in America’s largest cities, the statistic rose 189%.

Adams said during a press conference in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday, “The president right now should stand up and say, on behalf of the American people, ‘We apologize to the Chinese community.'”

“I’m hoping he’ll say to the Chinese residents of this country that we apologize for what was said and what was done. We’ve turned people against the Chinese community during Covid,” Adams insisted.

The press conference was held as Adams announced a series of initiatives to help small businesses in Chinatown and other parts of the city.

Adams also said he would send a formal letter to Biden on Tuesday and that “we will never allow the Oval Office to be used to attack people in our country.”

In May, Biden signed legislation that directed the DOJ to expedite the review of COVID-19-related hate crimes that were reported to law enforcement agencies, help them establish ways to report such incidents online, and perform public outreach.
