On Billboard Country Live Wednesday, Garth Brooks discussed his soon to open bar “Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk”. The bar is located in Nashville’s South Broadway District. He plans to serve “every brand of beer” out of love for one another adding, “if you’re an a**hole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”
Brooks told Melinda Newman, “I know this sounds corny. I want it to be the Chick-fil-A of honky-tonks … I want it to be a place you feel safe in, I want it to be a place where you feel like there are manners and people like one another. And yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are. It’s not our decision to make. Our thing is this, if you [are let] into this house, love one another. If you’re an a–hole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”
This is in contrast to more conservative country singers and lower Broadway bar owners who have pulled Bud Light as conservatives boycotted the beer after a partnership with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney was made public.
See the post that started it all below:
John Rich explained his reason for not stocking the beer, “The customers aren’t going to order it. I’m not going to stock it. We’ve only got a limited area. I’ve got a limited bar. It’s like… I’ve got to put ber and whiskey and vodkas up here that people want to purchase and they want to support… And brother, I can tell you right now, it’s a vicious attitude toward Bud Light.”
Kid Rock took a little different approach. In a viral video he posted to social media he shared his thoughts on Bud Light’s partnership with Mulvaney. He is seen shooting up cases of Bud Light with a rifle. He tells the camera, “Let me say something to all of you and be as clear and concise as possible. F— Bud Light, and f— Anheuser-Busch.”
With the backlash from the partnership Bud Light has continued to see a drop in sales compared to a year ago.
Brooks is clearly making a statement by announcing he will sell all the beers and if you don’t like it go somewhere else. People may just do that.

Just when I was getting used to not seeing that disgusting boy-who-mocks-girls as everyone was trying to pretend the Bud Light idiocy didn’t happen – Garthy has to go and legitimize it again. SMH
