In an exchange today during the White House press briefing, Fox News’ Peter Doocy grilled White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on why the “Tennessee Three” state reps are being invited to the White House but not victims or victims’ families of the Christian school shooting that occurred.
Jean-Pierre made the announcement that the three reps, two of which were expelled from the state house, would be visiting the White House on Monday during the briefing.
Ultimately, those two Democrat representatives have been reinstated by local officials to their positions but face a special election to be potentially re-elected.
In a clip shared by Breaking 911, Doocy began, “So Monday, you’re going to have three of the lawmakers who protested…”
Jean-Pierre interrupted to insist that the lawmakers protested “peacefully” after which Doocy continued, “who peacefully protested after the Nashville Covenant School shooting.”
“Have any of the victims or the victims’ families been invited to The White House?” Doocy then wondered.
Jean-Pierre responded, “I don’t have anything to read out to you about any invite.”
“Why?” Doocy shot back to which Jean-Pierre reiterated, “I just don’t have anything at this time to read out to you about any invite.”
“What I can say right now is that the president is focused on getting things done,” Jean-Pierre added.
