Peter Doocy Tells Jen Psaki That He’s ‘Sorry to See You Go’ and She Asks Him Slyly ‘Are You?’

As we reported earlier, May 13 is scheduled to be Jen Psaki’s last day as the White House press secretary and she will be replaced by deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

With the announcement being made before Psaki’s daily press briefing, it gave Fox News’ Peter Doocy an opportunity to mention the looming departure.

When Psaki called on him, Doocy told her, “Sorry to see you go.”

“Are you?” Psaki asked him slyly.

The room then broke out in laughter as Doocy continued, “You’ve always been a good sport.”

“Thank you. As have you,” Psaki retorted as Doocy concluded, “So on behalf of everybody, thank you.”

Jean-Pierre shared a statement in a tweet about Biden’s appointment of her and said, “Thank you ⁦@POTUS⁩ and @FLOTUS for this opportunity. It is a true honor.”

“I look forward to serving this Administration and the American people. I have big shoes to fill. @PressSec has been a great friend, mentor and excellent press secretary,” Jean-Pierre added.
